Issuing of Judo Canada Sport Passports

In order to be eligible for a Judo Canada Sport Passport, applicants must be Canadian citizens or Landed Immigrants. Some other categories may be accepted; if eligibility is in question, applicants are advised to contact Judo Canada before submitting their application.

Applicants are required to fill out the passport application, available from their dojo, their provincial association, the Judo Canada office or the Judo Canada website.

Applications must be accompanied by the following:
  • A photo of the applicant, approximately 32mm x 44mm (1.25" x 1.75") in size.
  • A photocopy of the applicant's birth certificate and/or proof of Canadian citizenship or proof of landed immigrant status. Enclosed documents proving landed immigrant status or Canadian citizenship must indicate date of birth. Acceptable documents include:
    • official proof of landed immigrant status
    • official proof of Canadian citizenship
    • Canadian birth certificate
    • Canadian passport
      Copies of drivers' licenses and/or foreign birth certificates will not be accepted.
  • A money order or cheque payable to Judo Canada for the correct amount. Passport costs are as follows:
    • $20.00: Regular passport request;
      passports will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
    • $25.00: Rush passport request;
      passports will be processed immediately upon receipt and mailed out to applicant as expediently as possible.
    • $15.00: Replacement passport;
      a replacement for a lost passport will be issued; application will be given "regular" priority. If applicant wishes a replacement passport to be made into a "rush" request, the regular $25.00 rush fee must be paid.
    • $15.00: Provincial application;
      provincial applications must arrive directly from the province in order to be considered as such; these applications will be given "regular" priority; completed passports will be issued and sent directly to the province rather than directly to the applicant. In order to make a provincial application into a "rush" request, the regular $25.00 rush fee must be paid.
Passports will be mailed via regular mail and sent directly to applicants unless they are provincial applications. A letter or an e-mail will be sent to provinces periodically listing the passports recently issued unless the province contacts Judo Canada and indicates that it does not wish to receive this update. If a province would prefer all passports issued to be sent directly to the Provincial Association, they must contact Judo Canada and indicate this.
