Catherine Roberge

Biography

Catherine was borned and raised in Quebec city. Following on the footsteps of her sister and her brothers, she started judo at the age of 4. Two of her brothers and her sister have been, like her, member’s of the national team. Even if her mother was never herself a judoka, she was a great influence on her career, first by practicing herself many sports but more importantly by encouraging Catherine to pursue her dreams. When she is not busy doing judo or studying political science at Laval University, she likes to spend time with her nieces and nephew or practice downhill ski. Catherine has the habit of wearing the same old sport overcoat at tournament, the same she has been wearing since the age of 15, which can bring, apparently, some sarcastic comments from her competitors. She also has been wearing the first black belt she has received. Her best Olympics souvenir’s has been receiving an ovation from her family and friends after coming out of the competition area  a bit disappointed by her results at the Olympics in Athens.
