Making it to the Olympic Games has been a longtime dream for Arthur Margelidon. Now, with his name on a ticket to Rio, he has a single goal in mind: to bring back a medal.
On this journey, he is both supported and inspired by his coach, two- time Olympic medallist Nicolas Gill.
Arthur was born in Paris and lives in Montreal. He started practicing judo when he was six years old, encouraged by his father, who has been a passionate judoka his entire life. Judo allows the 22-year-old athlete to push his limits, and forces him to constantly improve. Arthur is particularly proud of ranking fifth in the 2013 Junior World Championships, in Slovenia.
Not only is Arthur the reigning Pan American Champion, but this season he has also made it to the top of the podium at the Pan American Open and also at the African Open in Port Louis, Mauritius Islands.
