Brandon Jobb wins bronze
Montreal, March 22, 2009 (Sportcom) Brandon Jobb of Abbotsford, B.C., won the bronze medal this weekend in men’s 81 kilos at the Bremen Masters International judo tournament in Bremen, Germany.
In men’s under-17, Jobb won his first three bouts before losing to Mewen Ferey Mondesir of France. Jobb won his repechage bout then defeated Adilkhan Kozybayev of Kazakhstan for the bronze medal.
“It was a remarkable performance for Brandon,” said Canadian coach Jean-Pierre Cantin. “ He won his five bouts by Ippon. His technique is very impressive for his age and that gave him an advantage. It’s very promising for the under-17 world championships this summer.”

In 66 kilos, Mathieu Côté opened with three wins before being eliminated in his following bout.
