Judo Canada wishes to congratulate Marc Deschênes and Mina Coulombe as recipients of the Brad Farrow Bursary. Each receives a financial support to help them pursue their athletic development. For each of the past 6 years, this bursary named after a three-time Olympian and 11-time national champion is awarded to promising athletes not yet carded, but who stand out by their commitment and their dedication in training.
“Brad is a successful businessman, and this is his way to give back to his sport. He wants to give back to young athletes who work hard and are tenacious in training,” explains Nicolas Gill, CEO of Judo Canada.
For Marc Deschênes and Mina Coulombe, the Brad Farrow bursary comes at a perfect time in their career. The additional funding will allow them to compete in a few more tournaments and improve their chance to be carded next year.
