Job Offer: Sport Development and Events Coordinator (SDEC)

 

Judo Canada is currently seeking a Sport Development and Events Coordinator (SDEC) who will help implement Judo Canada’s sport development and event plan.

 

General Description

Support and promote the implementation of Judo Canada’s sport development and event plans as requested by the Sport Development and Event Manager (SDEM).

 

Organizational structure

The SDEC reports to the SDEM.

 

Responsibilities

Event projects
•    Help the team in the organization of the IBSA Pan American Championships;
•    Help the team in the organization of the Elite National Championships;
•    Help the team in the organization of the Senior Pan American Championships;
•    Help the team in finding and implementing new sponsorships;
•    Help the team in the organization of other events (training camps, seminar, etc.);
•    Other related duties as needed.

Sport Development
•    Support the implementation of the development plan of activities related to gender equity;
•    Support the implementation of the development plan of safe practice of judo;
•    Create, write and promote informative and promotional content;
•    Help create resources for new programs;
•    Help the development of resources for clubs;
•    Help the team in finding and implementing new sponsorships;
•    Help the team in the organization of various events;
•    Help the team in delivering the summer camp and launch day camps;
•    Other related duties as needed.

 

Required Qualification

  • Practical experience related to the industry;
  • High level of proficiency in French, oral and written;
  • High level of proficiency in English, oral and written;
  • Proficiency with the required technological tools and Microsoft Office programs;
  • Planning and organizational skills;
  • Meticulous work and detail-oriented;
  • Analyzing and problem-solving skills;
  • Sound judgment and confidentiality;
  • Knowledge of judo is required.

 

Start Date: November 11, 2019

Salary: based on experience

Job type: 8-month contract, with an option to extend

The SDEM will be based in the National Office in Montreal, at 4141 Pierre-de-Coubertin.
