Judo Canada is currently looking for volunteers to fill some key roles in the organisation.  Look at the opportunities below and send us your resume if you meet the criteria (send to the attention of Adrien Landry – [email protected]).  Judo Canada is always looking for dynamic people who want to help us grow the organisation.  Deadline to submit your resume is June 19 2014.

Referee Committee – Chairperson

  • Eligibility:
  1. Must be a member in good standing with Judo Canada
  • Criteria:
  1. Must be a certified International A Referee
  2. Must have experience as a referee at the Olympic/Paralympic Games and/or at the World Championships
  3. Must have experience serving on a national or provincial referee committee
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Implement the Terms of Reference and Policy for the National Referee Committee
  2. Work with the Judo Canada staff to deliver on the organisational Strategic Plan
  3. Collaborate with other national and provincial committees
  • Term and workload:
  1. The position is for 4 years but Judo Canada reserves the right to reassess the duration of this mandate
  2. The position requires some travel for a yearly committee meeting, the National Championships, the annual general assembly, and 1-2 referee evaluations. It may also require attending one international event of the IJF or PJC.  Travel expenses are covered by Judo Canada.
  3. Excluding the travel load, the position also requires about 100 hours per year of administrative/coordinating work to support the referee development program and the  committee.

Awards Committee – Chairperson

  • Eligibility:
  1. Must be a member in good standing with Judo Canada
  • Criteria:
  1. Must have a keen interest in recognizing all manners of outstanding individuals in the judo community
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Implement the Hall of Fame policy
  2. Work with the Judo Canada staff to deliver on the organisational Strategic Plan
  3. Develop and coordinate new recognition programs for different areas of the judo community
  • Term and workload:
  1. The position is for 4 years but Judo Canada reserves the right to reassess the duration of this mandate
  2. The position requires some travel for a yearly committee meeting, the National Championships, and the annual general assembly.  Travel expenses are covered by Judo Canada.
  3. Excluding the travel load, the position also requires about 50 hours per year of administrative/coordinating work to support the Hall of Fame, various recognition programs and the  committee.
